Shop these letters to help your little ones with their letter recognition. This set of 26 wooden magnetic alphabet discs is so versatile.
Use to teach/practise:
* letter names and sounds
* blending letter sounds and making cvc words (consonant – vowel – consonant e.g. hop, sit, jug)
* putting letters in alphabetical order
Some other fun activity ideas:
* turn discs so letter is facing down. Take turns turning over one letter at a time and see if you can name something that starts with that letter sound. If you are correct, you get to keep the disc. You could do this activity with the discs in two stacks, letter side down. Turn over the top disc and name something that starts with that sound.
* when making cvc words, randomly pick 2 consonants and 1 vowel (like a lucky dip). Put them together and see if you have a real word or a ‘made up’ word. This is great blending practise.
